Glacier-Waterton Loop is a 350-miles inn-to-inn bicycle tour that starts in Whitefish, Montana, and visits British Columbia as well as Glacier National Park and the Ride to the Sun Highway. Presented by nonprofit Adventure Cycling Association. Dates: July 8-17 and July 13-22, 2023

Elevation Elation The name derives from testing your legs on Beartooth Pass and Chief Joseph Pass, among others. The loop ride begins in Columbus, with overnights in Red Lodge, Cook City (2), Cody (2), and Belfry. Total mileage is 378 miles. Presented by Bicycle Rides Northwest. Dates: July 17-24, 2023

Great Divide Canada — A self-contained mountain bike tour leaving from Whitefish and exploring 343 miles of the Great Divide.  Offered by the Adventure Cycling AssociationDates: July 8-18 and July 11-21, 2023

Great Parks North — Explores national parks in Montana and Alberta, Canada. The self-sufficient bike tour presented by Adventure Cycling Association will visit the Glacier, Waterton, Banff, and Jasper national parks in the US and Canada. Dates: July 5-26, 2023

Climate Ride: Glacier Ride – Glacier & Waterton  A 6-day bicycle ride spanning two parks in two countries — Glacier National Park on the U.S. side and Waterton National Park on the Canadian side. Dates: July 6-11, 2023

Cycle Greater Yellowstone —  This 384-mile bike tour experiences 14,800 feet of elevation gain. The ride begins in Butte, and features visits to Jackson, MT (hot springs), Bannack State Park, Polaris (Maverick Mountain and Elkhorn Hot Springs), Pioneer Scenic Byway, Big Hole River Retreat, Twin Bridges, Pony, Lewis and Clark Caverns and the Pipestone Scenic Byway back to Butte on Friday, August 14. Presented by the Greater Yellowstone Coalition. Dates: Retired

Other Montana bike rides

Ride Around the Pioneers in One Day (RATPOD) is a 130-mile fund-raiser (Camp Make a Dream) loop bike ride that encircles the Pioneer Mountains, starting in Dillon. Registration for the popular ride opens on March 7; 650 cyclists maximum. Date: June 24, 2023

Scenic Tour of the Kootenai River (STOKR) is a one- or two-day charity bike ride out of Libby, Montana. Day 1 offers a 98- and 45-mile option. Day 2 is a 37-mile ride to Lake Koocanusa. Limited to 400 cyclists; registration opens in February. Dates: Retired
